Tony Revitt

Tony is a former Canadian National Team diver who competed at the Commonwealth Games, Pan Am Games, World Championships and numerous other international competitions throughout his athletic career. After studying Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University and competing with their Varsity Swimming and Diving Team, he decided to study physiotherapy as a way to continue to work with dedicated athletes in order to help them get back to performing at their highest capability.  Tony studied physiotherapy at Brunel University in London, England and graduated in 2005.  He built experience working in Ottawa and Kemptville before joining the Carleton Sport Medicine and Physiotherapy clinic in 2010.

Tony specializes mainly in orthopaedic physiotherapy with a strong focus in sport physiotherapy; holding a Sport Physiotherapy Canada Diploma.  As an avid athlete and physiotherapist with over 12 years of experience, he has a strong knowledge and appreciation for many different sports and the high level of physical demand they entail.  His treatment focus involves manual therapy in conjunction with a home exercise program to help strengthen, stretch and stabilize the injured area.  Tony also uses acupuncture and IMS (Intramuscular Stimulation) for chronic conditions and to help loosen tight muscles from injuries and movement dysfunctions.

In recent years Tony has expanded his treatment practice to focus on concussion management. By performing treatment for the spine, visual system, and vestibular (balance) system, he aids people return to daily activities and their athletic endeavours.

In addition to his clinical practice, Tony travels with the Canadian Women’s Fencing Team (Foil) as the Team Physiotherapist.  He has worked with the National Diving Team (Sr. and Jr), Ontario Provincial U15- U18 Rugby teams and the Eastern Ontario U16 and U18 Rugby teams. Tony is a regular volunteer at local sporting events (Skate Canada, Ontario Gymnastics Provincials, PGA Canada). Outside of the clinic, Tony can be seen keeping healthy and active by training for triathlons, golfing, skiing and snowboarding.
